An ideal mineral nutrient supply is essential for your pet. So-called “bone minerals” ensure a solid bone frame and healthy teeth. In times of stress (e.g. at delivery) and in the first three months of growth or during the suckling period, the respective demand is increased. When your pet ages the calcium absorption is furthermore inhibited. If the calcium demand is not met the body detracts calcium from the bones. For that reason aging animals should be supplied with that mineral (e.g. by Fortan® Calcium Citrate).
