Since 1948, Fortan has stood for tradition, experience and love for animals. The company was founded by Wolfgang Schmidt-Duisberg in Düsseldorf, Germany. What began with high-quality vitamin tablets has developed over the decades into a traditional brand for pet supplements, complementary feed and care products for dogs, cats and horses.

Today, Fortan is a family-run company based in Wuppertal, Germany. Our history is closely connected to Germany — from our foundation in Düsseldorf to the continued development of the company at its current location.

A True Family Business

Fortan is today managed by Hans-Gerd Heinrichs and Ute Heinrichs. Their two daughters, Melanie and Yvonne, also work in the company. This makes Fortan a true family business, shaped by personal responsibility, experience and close contact with our customers.

Our love for animals is not only part of our brand, but part of our everyday life: four horses, five dogs and six cats belong to our family and are closely connected to the business. They remind us every day why we do what we do.
